Lightning Fall To Sabres 2-1 In Buffalo

The Tampa Lightning (12-5-1) fell to the Buffalo Sabres (10-6-2) 2-1 on Tuesday night in Buffalo.

The Sabres came into this game playing very well to start the season, and played very well to start this game.  Jeff Skinner scored first for Buffalo at the 17:45 mark in the first period to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead.  When Kyle Okpso scored at 5:43 in the second period, Anthony Cirelli answered fifteen seconds later to pull the Lightning back within 2-1.

That would be as close as the Bolts would get, however, as Carter Hutton went 29-for-30 in net for the Sabres and made all the key stops he needed to during the third period to help clinch the win.  Louis Domingue got the start in net for the Bolts, going 16-for-18 on shots on net.

The Lightning now head to Pittsburgh for game two of their four game road trip as they will battle the Penguins on Thursday night.  Puck drop is scheduled for 7 PM and you can hear the game, beginning with pregame coverage at 6:30, on News Radio 970 WFLA.
