USF Falls To Tulsa For 20th Loss Of Season

The USF Bulls (7-20, 1-15) fell to Tulsa (13-14, 7-8) 82-68 on Thursday night in Oklahoma.

The Bulls trailed Tulsa 39-34 and tied the game at 47-47 with 15:05 to go in the game.  After a 49-49 tie, Tulsa scored the next six points to begin to take control of the contest.  South Florida trailed by 10 with 56 seconds to go after Geno Thorpe hit a three-pointer to give him a game best 24 points, but Tulsa made the free throws to pull away to the 14-point victory.

In addition to the game high 24 points from Thorpe, USF also got 10 points from Tulio Da Silva.  The Golden Hurricane had five players score in double figures, led by 16 points from Pat Birt.  Each team made 24 field goals - good for 40% for USF and 41% for Tulsa - while the Golden Hurricane outrebounded the Bulls 44-33.

USF is now off a week as they prepare to battle in-state rival UCF next Thursday night.  Tipoff on March 2nd is scheduled for 7 PM between and Bulls and the Knights at the Sun Dome.
