The Lightning lost the heart of their defense within the first two minutes of Thursday's game in Ottawa.

Goalie Ben Bishop was injured as he sprawled to try and play a puck and was caught on the back of the head by forward Nikita Kucherov's leg.

Bishop laid on the ice and Marc Methot was able to put the puck easily in the open net.

He left the ice and will not return with what the team is officially calling an upper-body injury.
