The Tampa Bay Lightning were shut out 3-0 by New Jersey at the Prudential Center on Saturday.
Both teams' goalies would hang tough keeping the game scoreless after the first period.
Damien Brunner, assisted by Eric Gelinas, scored in the second period at the 15:37 mark to give the Devils a 1-0 lead.
Dainius Zubrus was able to slam the door on the Bolts in the third period with two goals. The first came at the 6:44 mark with the assist coming from Jaromir Jagr. The second was assisted by Jagr as well at the 9:36 mark. This gave the Devils a 3-0 lead with 10:24 remaining.
Martin Brodeur held his own the entire game with 33 saves on as many shots. Anders Lindback had 16 saves on 19 shots.
The Lightning will travel to Detroit to take on the Redwings Sunday at 5PM.
