Among the moves made by the Bucs today on Day 1 of free agency, this was an interesting transaction that crossed the wire:  Bucs release kicker Lawrence Tynes.  Yes, that Tynes.

Tynes made headlines last summer during training camp when he contracted MRSA.  The Bucs then placed him on the non-football injury list, which triggered an angry response from Tynes' camp and the NFLPA.

Players on the NFI list don't have to be paid, but the Bucs did pay Tynes $840,000 he had coming to him on his contract.
