NFL Network Analyst and former NFL lineman Jamie Dukes tells 620 WDAE Sports Page program this morning that if he were the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he wouldn’t be involved in any deal involving New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis.

“I wouldn’t touch Darrelle Revis, and he’s the best cornerback in the NFL” said Dukes.  “My wife has a saying, it may not be scientific but it’s true.  Messy on the way in, messy on the way out.”

Revis reported to Jets voluntary workouts yesterday in Florham Park, NJ and received positive news as he was cleared to begin running without restrictions following a serious knee injury.  Although Dukes does Revis would be an improvement to the Buccaneers lagging pass defense, he says Revis’ baggage would be too much for him.

“Every time you turn around, he’s whining about something, “ Dukes said.  “The Jets paid this guy a four year, sixty million dollar contract.   They (Jets) happened to give him  fourty seven of that or fifty of that in the first three years.   This guy’s whining about that.   A year into his contract, he’s whining about his next contract.”

“While he is a great football player, I just would not want that guy there” said Dukes.
