It was another long day for the Bucs offense on Sunday.  The team managed just 170 yards of total offense as they lost at St. Louis 23-13.  The Bucs drop to 4-11 on the season while the Rams improve to 7-8.  Robert Quinn had three sacks on the day for the Rams, giving him 18 on the season.

The Bucs went three and out on their first possession but they got things going on their 2nd possession.  Tampa Bay went 85 yards on 11 plays which culminated in a 1-yard touchdown run by Bobby Rainey.  Vincent Jackson had two big catches on the drive for 52 yards from Mike Glennon.  The Bucs converted three times on 3rd down to sustain that drive.  The Rams suffered a big loss early in the first quarter when left tackle Jake Long went down with a knee injury.

The Rams embarked on a nice 13 play drive spanning 80 yards.  Rookie running back Zac Stacy capped the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7.  Stacy finished with 104 yards on 33 carries.  Rainey then lost a fumble inside the Bucs 30 when he was hit by Alec Ogletree and William Hayes came up with it at the 27.  The Rams capitalized as they pulled off a double-reverse on the first play after the turnover.  Stedman Bailey scored from 27 yards out to give the Rams a 14-7 lead.  Rams had another good drive going but the Bucs came with a big play when Kellen Clemens fumbled after a hit by Adrian Clayborn and Keith Tandy made the recovery.  The Bucs got a 35-yard field goal from Rian Lindell just before the half to make it a 14-10 Rams lead.

The Bucs got closer early in the 3rd quarter when Lindell hit a 32-yard field goal to make it 14-13 Rams.  A big pass interference call on Janoris Jenkins set up the Bucs deep inside St. Louis territory.   The Rams responded with a 54-yard field goal by Greg Zuerlein to give the Rams a 17-13 lead late in the third quarter.

The Rams tacked on three more on a 25-yard FG by Zuerlein to make it 20-13 St. Louis early in the 4th quarter.  Later on, the Rams got a sack and forced fumble against Glennon.  St. Louis turned that into a 48-yard FG by Zuerlein to make it a 23-13 Rams lead.  Glennon was sacked 7 times on the day by the Rams defense.  Glennon finished the day by completing 16 of 26 passes for 158 yards but wasn’t given much of a chance today by his offensive line.  The Bucs close out their season next week at New Orleans.
