Miami senior forward Donnavan Kirk scored 16 points as the Hurricanes earned a tough ACC victory over in state rival FloridaState with a 77-73 win.  For the Canes, it was just the third in conference play and the second on the road against the Seminoles in their last eight attempts.

Senior guard Rion Brown finished with 14 points for Miami while Tonye Jekiri chipped in 15 off the bench for the Canes.  The Miami victory was just its second win in its last eight games while the 77 points were the most scored since an 84-69 win against Texas Southern earlier this year.

Ian Miller scored 13 for the Noles in his first game back from an ankle injury. Devon Bookert scored 17 and Aaron Thomas had 16 in the loss.

The Noles have lost 6 of their last eight as their tournament hopes are fading fast.
