Florida State sophomore guard Aaron Thomas hit a career-high six 3-pointers and scored 24 points to lead the Noles to a 70-50 victory over Virginia Tech on Wednesday night. The Seminoles broke a season-high three-game losing streak with the win over the Hokies.
Thomas heated up in the second half of play hitting three consecutive 3-pointers to give Florida State a 15-point lead midway through the half. Okaro White finished with 15 points and eight rebounds as well.
Va Tech’s Will Johnston scored 12 points for Virginia while Cadarian Raines added 13 for the Hokies who entered the game as the worst shooting team in the ACC (37.3% in ACC play). With the loss, Virginia Tech has lost nine consecutive games.
