TAMPA, FL (via USF Athletics Communications) - Senior forward Victor Rudd averaged 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds over two games last week and was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll on Monday.
It was the fourth honor for the Los Angeles native who was a preseason second team all-conference selection before the season began.
Rudd scored a season-high 25 points, including eight of USF’s nine in overtime, to lead the Bulls to a 79-78 win at UCF on Wednesday. He was 11-of-19 from the field and brought down 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season.
Rudd then scored 15 points and had seven rebounds in USF’s 79-69 loss to Rutgers on Saturday. Two of his 15 points came on a ferocious one-handed dunk which was Saturday’s SportsCenter No. 1 play.
Rudd was joined on the team with TaShawn Thomas (Houston), Joe Jackson (Memphis), Kadeem Jack (Rutgers) and Nic Moore (SMU). Cincinnati’s Sean Kilpatrick was the player of the week and Ben Moore of SMU earned rookie of the week honors.
USF (12-12, 3-8) will next be in action on Wednesday when it plays at No. 24 UConn (18-5, 6-4) at 7 p.m. in a game televised by ESPN2.
