The search for a new athletic director looks to have started at USF.

Brett McMurphy of ESPN is reporting that Doug Woolard is out as athletic director.  McMurphy says Woolard will remain with the school through the end of his contract in June 2015, but in another unspecified role.

The university has announced that Woolard will retire when his contract expires, and tells WDAE that he will remain in his role as AD until his replacement has been found and transitioned in.

Woolard was hired as USF's athletic director in 2004 after spending ten years at Saint Louis.
