Several outlets reported Sunday evening that Buccaneers WR Mike Williams was at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa after allegedly being stabbed in the thigh by his brother, according to WTSP-TV.
WTSP has reported a spokesperson from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office confirmed the incident, but that law enforcement is withholding the name of his brother while they continue in their efforts to locate him Sunday night.
Williams, who signed a $40-million contract extension last summer, was at his home in the gated community of Avila in Tampa when the stabbing occurred.
The Buccaneers released a statement through their official twitter account on the situation, saying:
"We are aware of the situation that occured at the residence of Mike Williams and are working with him and the authorities to get additional information. While we have limited knowledge at this time, our primary concern is for the safety and well bring of all involved. We will refrain from further comment until we can get a better understanding of the situation."
