Pro Football Hall Of Fame enshrinee Derrick Brooks took a visit to the Pro Football Hall of Fame last week to take a tour and find out exactly where his bust will lay forever in Canton, Ohio. The Class of 2014 won’t call the Hall home until August 2nd, but Brooks told WDAE’s ‘The Sports Page’ Wednesday morning that his speech following being inducted is already in progress.
“My acceptance speech I put a little bit down everyday in my mind about it,” said Brooks. “Part of it this year because two networks are carrying the ceremony, so much has to be done towards respect for tv and the other enshrines and their speeches. They’re really going to be on us about staying at around the seven minute mark. I’m going to do my best to do that, but there is some important things that need to be said that’s coming from me.”
Brooks said he’ll leave plenty of room to speak from his heart in his acceptance speech and plans that the emotions will get to him during the event.
