Memphis guard Joe Jackson’s missed layup with just seconds remaining was the Tigers last shot at tying the Florida Gators in a great basketball game at Madison Square Garden.  Casey Prather’s 22 points led the Gators to their second straight win over a top 15 ranked team as Florida beats Memphis 77-75.

The Gators held the lead for the entire first half as the combo of Scottie Wilbekin and Prather scored 16 of Florida’s 41 points in the half.  The Gators led by as much as ten points, but the Tigers came roaring back in the second half.  Geron Johnson sparked Memphis to grab their only lead of the game early in the second half, but the Gators defense made sure that would be the only lead of the game for the Tigers.

Prather scored 10 of the Gators final 15 points including a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line as the Gators were able to squeeze out the win in the final seconds of the game.  Wilbekin and Michael Frazier each had 11 points for the Gators who defeat the Tigers for the first time in 37 years.

Florida will return home to host Fresno State on Saturday afternoon.  You can listen to all the action on 620am/95.3FM WDAE beginning at 3:55pm
