Dorian Finney-Smith scored 17 points in his Gator debut, in just 16 minutes of action, as No. 11 Florida defeated Arkansas-Little Rock 86-56 on Saturday afternoon.
Finney-Smith had been suspended and then was cleared to play but also had been battling a virus that saw him drop 10 pounds.
"He hadn't picked up a ball since Monday," said head coach Billy Donovan. "He really moved the basketball and made the extra pass. Because he can shoot it, put it on the floor and pass, he opens up a lot of things for our guys."
Casey Prather played a large role with 27 points. The Gators turned on the press in the second half to pull away.
The Gators are now 2-1 on the season. Saturday's game aired on WDAE.
