The first day of the winter meetings has come and gone, but the hot stove is heating up especially with the swirling rumors of a possible trade for Rays starting pitcher David Price.  Several reports say the Dodgers and Rangers are amongst teams interested in the left handed ace of the Rays, Rays Manager Joe Maddon said Monday this is the usual talk around this time of the year.

“I'm not saying I like losing any of those guys. ... I permit myself that thought once in a while, like what would it be like to have them all here. But it's not real.”

Maddon values the ace of his staff and would love Price to return to the team in 2014, and spoke very highly of Price.

“Guys like him are rare," Maddon went on. "David is a rare person and a rare pitcher, and from a managerial perspective, we like to keep those kind of guys.”
