The Rays will look to keep their roll going in a Saturday afternoon game against the Jays but they will again be without shortstop Yunel Escobar.
Though the initial injury didn't look serious two signs Friday cast a more negative light on the matter. Escobar said he was feeling discomfort in "every movement I make" and manager Joe Maddon expressed concern with the treatment, or really lack thereof, the injury received during the All-Star Break.
"He was able to get some good rest but, didn't get the proper kind of treatment," Maddon told Marc Topkin in these comments to the Tampa Bay Times. "There needs to be some movement involved and he didn't get that, sitting around in Miami."
Through interpretor/teammate Joel Peralta, Escobar said he feels discombort "in everything" but despite that, it appears the team is not yet even considering a DL stint.
Maddon expressed that Escobar might be able to DH on Saturday but the lineup reads: CF Desmond Jennings, SS Ben Zobrist, 3B Evan Longoria, RF Wil Myers, 2B Ryan Roberts, 1B Sean Rodriguez, DH Luke Scott, C Jose Molina, LF Sam Fuld.
Jeremy Hellickson is on the mound for the Rays against lefty Mark Buehrle for toronto. Game time is 1:07 p.m. with WDAE carrying all the play-by-play.
