Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria says his right foot isn’t as much a pain as it has been lately.  The All Star third baseman has missed three straight games due to a plantar fasciitis issue in his foot, but Longoria says he hopes to play in the next couple of days.

“I feel like after this, it's only going to get better, so that's really the only thing that is positive right now," Longoria said. "It's sore, but at the same time, I wake up with the prospect of it feeling better every day that goes forward.”

Longoria said he doesn’t expect to be heading to the disabled list due to the injury, and wants to play on Tuesday in the second game of a four game series in Houston.  Early Monday Longoria took ground balls at third base and said the injury didn’t bother him very much.

“I know that it's tough for them and myself to be able to make decisions on the lineup, and the way things are going when it's such a question mark for me” said Longoria. “I don't want to go in there and just be like, worthless, basically, go out there and not be able to run or be able to do the things I can do. So we're kind of stuck in limbo.”
