As rumors continue to swirl about the possibility of the Tampa Bay Rays trading pitcher David Price by Thursday afternoon’s deadline, one MLB analyst is standing by his prediction that Price will remain with the Rays for the remainder of the season.  ESPN and Sirius XM MLB Analyst Jim Bowden jumped on with WDAE’s ‘The Ron and Ian Show’ on Tuesday to explain why he believes Price will be a Rays for a playoff push in baseball’s last couple of months.

“I don’t think he’s gone by Thursday,” said Bowden.  “The thing that complicated it over the last week is that Cole Hamels and Jon Lester are on the market.   The return for Lester is much less than David Price because that’s only a two month rental.  And believe it or not Hamels can bring back more because you control the player for three more years than David Price.  That’s kind of made it more difficult to get the package that Andrew (Friedman) wanted, but if I’m a betting guy right now I would say he (Price) is not moved by Thursday.”
