Toronto sweeps Tampa Bay behind stellar defense and a miscue from the Rays. It was an error by Juan Carlos Oviedo that allowed the Blue Jays to sweep the Rays in Toronto with a final score of 3-2.

It didn't take long for the Blue Jays to jump out to an early lead against the Rays. With the bases loaded Toronto's hottest hitter, Edwin Encarnacion, delivered a 2-run single and the Rays found themselves in an early 2-0 hole. However, it did not take long for the Rays to answer as Wil Myers delivered a 2-run home run to left field.

Chris Archer and Liam Hendriks each gave their teams 6 innings of work before turning the game over to the bullpens. Archer was able to strike out seven hitters over his six innings. Hendriks struck out five Rays hitters but got more help from some stellar plays by his defense.

In the ninth inning the Blue Jays delivered their first walk-off win of the season. Dioner Navarro singled to start the inning and Anthony Gose bunted the ball back to the pitcher Juan Carlos Oviedo who threw the ball into right field allowing the winning run for the Jays to come across.

The Rays move on to Boston for a three game series that will begin on Friday night at Fenway Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 with the Suncoast Hyundai Dealers Inside Pitch starting at 6PM on 620 WDAE.
