Some people, not us but some, are trying to lessen the impact of the Rays' current hot streak due to the opponents being less than top-tier.

National baseball columnist Ken Rosenthal is not one of them. He joined Ron Diaz live Thursday morning.

"I don't care who they're playing," Rosenthal said. "You have to beat the team in front of you. Twelve straight starts three runs (allowed) or fewer, that's what you want. I'm encouraged by what you see from them."

He also got into the odds of the Rays making a trade before the July 31 deadline, saying he wouldn't be surprised if they add "a piece or two" but not to expect anything major.
