After a series win in Seattle the Rays moved south to Los Angeles looking to build off their momentum. Erik Bedard pitched into the sixth inning without giving up an earned run but a blown save ruins the Rays night as Mike Trout walks off with a three run home run to beat the Rays 6-5.
The Rays got to Angels starter Tyler Skaggs in the second inning when Brandon Guyer delivered an RBI single that scored James Loney. Tampa Bay added on in the sixth with RBi hits from Myers and Loney, but after scoring three times in the top half of the inning the Angels responded with a par of runs to put the score a 4-2.
Brandon Guyer who got the start today in left field had a big game for the Rays. Guyer had two hits with two runs scored and two RBIs with one being a solo home run in the seventh inning.
Grant Balfour came on for the save but after issuing back-to-back lead off walks and an RBI single to cut the lead from three runs down to just two, the Rays turned to Brad Boxberger.
It was Mike Trout who hit a three run walk off home run off Brad Boxberger and the Rays are stunned in the series opener by the Angels
