Double-amputee Paralympian runner Oscar Pistorius claimed to be suffering from a mental illness when he killed girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day in 2013, according to psychiatric reports submitted at his trial Monday. Pistorius' lawyers claim he was able to understand his wrongdoing.

Pistorius faces 25 years to life in prison if found guilty of premeditated murder, and could face years in prison if convicted of murder without premeditation or negligent killing. He is currently free on bail.

His surgeon testified that Pistorius' disability made him ''vulnerable in a dangerous situation.'' The defendant states that the pain he endures without his prostheses is unbearable. How he committed the murder without his prosthetic legs is unlikely.

The witness in question stated that they heard blood curdling screams in the early hours of February 14th but for someone in a bedroom 177 meters from Pistorius' home to hear a scream from his toilet is questionable.

Unfortunately for Pistorius, the experts who evaluated him were unanimous that he does not suffer from a mental illness. Head HERE for the full story.
