The Taney Dragons from Philadelphia punched their ticket to the Little League World Series on Sunday with big help from their ace pitcher Mo'Ne Davis.

Mo'Ne is an honor roll student entering eight grade at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy with a  fastball registers about 70 miles per hour on the radar gun.  Mix in a curveball and a power swing at the plate, and you have a complete little league ballplayer.

But what makes Mo’Ne truly unique is Mo’Ne is a girl.

According to Philadelphia Magazine, Mo'Ne has played baseball with the Anderson Monarchs, a travel team based out of the Marion Anderson Recreational Center in South Philly, since the age of seven.
