This definitely isn’t your father’s National Football League.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall had quite the morning as a guest of the hit television show “The View” and also signed a three year contract extension as part of the program.

Marshall's contract now runs through the 2017 season and is worth a reported $30 million dollars.

The signing did come as a surprise to many as this isn’t the typical way athletes sign contract extensions, but Marshall's foundation tweeted Monday that he was donating $1 million of his new money to the "mental health community."

In 2011, Marshall disclosed that he had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.
