This was just one of those things that I saw and I immediately had to post and share.
If you grew up playing sports, especially hockey, you know how much goes into making that a possibility. It's a commitment not just from the player, but the entire family.
My dad worked many long hours to put a roof over our heads and food on the table, but he always did what he could to make it to as many games of ours as possible.
That's just one of the reasons why this video was so touching to me.
TJ Oshie won over a lot of hockey fans years ago with his incredible shootout performance in the Sochi Olympics, but this year you really saw him take his game to the next level and be a key cog in the Capitals run to the Stanley Cup .
In this video Oshie talks about his dad's bout with Alzheimer's and how even though he doesn't remember much, he won't forget this moment. This is a perfect example of how sports can bring a family together for a moment of jubilation in the midst of some difficult times.
Congrats to TJ and the entire Oshie family.
