ST. PETERSBURG (620 WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays begin the second half of the regular season schedule tonight at home with what has been a position of strength becoming a position of weakness.

The team selected the contract of catcher Adam Moore from Triple-A Durham Friday, corresponding from the move Wednesday to place All-Star catcher Wilson Ramos on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

Moore, 34, is the only catcher in the organization with big-league experience, playing in 96 games with the Mariners, Royals, Padres, and Indians between 2009-2016.

To make room on the 40-man roster, outfielder Johnny Field was designated for assignment.
