ST. PETERSBURG (620 WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays Friday placed outfielder Tommy Pham on the 10-day disabled list after it was discovered that he had fractured his right foot in Thursday's win over the Los Angeles Angels.

Pham was hit on the foot in the fourth inning by a pitch from Angels left-hander Andrew Heaney.  He remained in the game and scored on a wild pitch later in the inning before being replaced in the seventh inning by Mallex Smith.

The 30-year-old was acquired by the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday morning in a deal that sent outfielder Justin Williams and minor-league pitchers Genesis Cabrera and Roel Ramirez to the Midwest.

To take his spot on the active roster, reliever Adam Kolarek was recalled from Triple-A Durham.
