Lightning Take Final Pre Season Tune Up 4-2 Over Panthers

J.T. Miller's rebound tally late in the third period off a Mikhail Sergachev blast capped a two goal rally in the final frame for the Tampa Bay Lightning as they defeated the Florida Panthers 4-2 in the final preseason game before the home opener next Saturday night at Amalie Arena.  Andrei Vasilevkiy was a stonewall for the Bolts in his final tune up of the pre-season with 31 saves.

The Bolts found themselves behind in the contest early as the Panthers established plenty of pressure on Vasilevskiy early and taking an early goal lead as Jonathan Huberdeau crashed the net and put it past Vasy for the first goal of the game.  Cory Conacher answered back just over a minute after the Lightning fell behind as he crashed the net scoring the tying goal past Roberto Luongo as the two teams headed to the first intermission tied at one.

Mike Hoffman's power play goal off a massive one timer that shot past Vasilevskiy gave Florida a 2-1 lead heading to the third period when Tampa Bay would not only tie the game, but take the lead and add an empty net goal for some insurance.

Mathieu Joseph tied the game with an unassisted goal only to be followed by J.T. Miller's rebound tally giving the Lightning their first lead of the game with just under seven minutes to play at 3-2.  The Bolts behind Vasilevskiy's stellar play in net stonewalled the Panthers attack late in the game, ending the game with an Anthony Cirelli empty net goal to give Tampa Bay a 4-2 win in Sunrise, FL.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will open the regular season on Saturday night at Amalie Arena against the Florida Panthers.
