USF Drops 59-56 Decision To Rival UCF

The USF Bulls (7-21, 1-16) led for much of this game but could not hold on, falling to rival UCF (20-10, 11-7) 59-56 on Thursday night at the Sun Dome.

Michael Bibby hit a 3 pointer early that gave USF a 5-4 lead - from there the Bulls led in this contest until the final ninety seconds.  Back to back three pointers from Matt Williams and B.J. Taylor gave UCF a 57-56 lead with 1:30 to go that UCF would take to the finish line.  Michael Bibby missed a potential game tying three-pointer at the buzzer and the Knights escaped Tampa with the victory.

The Knights were led by 20 points from Matt Williams, who set single-season and career school records for three-point shots, and 17 points from B.J. Taylor.  Troy Holston had 14 points off the bench to lead USF, while Malik Fitts added 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.  Tulio Da Silva also chipped in 10 points for the Bulls in the losing cause.

USF now wraps up the regular season when they host Temple on Sunday - tipoff from the Sun Dome is scheduled for 2 PM.
