Panthers Hand Buccaneers Stunning Loss

The Carolina Panthers (2-5) defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4) 21-3 on Sunday afternoon in Charlotte.

The Panthers took a 7-0 lead into halftime and added a third quarter touchdown to make it 14-0. When the Buccaneers got a field goal early in the fourth quarter for their only points in the game, the Panthers answered when PJ Walker hit Tommy Tremble for a 29-yard touchdown to make it 21-3. That would prove to be enough to clinch the game.

Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady went 32-for-49 with 290 yards through the air with no touchdowns or interceptions. Struggles on the run game continued for Tampa Bay, as the Panthers outrushed the Bucs 173-48.

The Buccaneers now have a tough challenge ahead as they look to bounce back as they host the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. Kickoff from Raymond James Stadium on Thursday Night Football is scheduled for 8:15 PM - you can hear the game on 97.9 WXTB FM - The Mighty 98 Rock.
