If You Make Bucs Final Roster Don't Celebrate Too Much

A simple breakdown of what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers final roster may include is keeping three quarterbacks, three running backs, four tight ends & five wide receivers. And the obvious last names to fill some of those spots include Winston, Evans, Barber. Jones, Godwin, Howard & Brate. What isn't obvious is how the team will fill the bottom portion of the roster, the portion that consists of five players that in head coach Bruce Arians terms, can change often based off of the team's needs.

On Tuesday following the team's practice, Arians met with the media. And one of the things he stated was how the team will use the practice squad & the bottom portion of the roster to fill team's need that will be fluid through the NFL season. For instance, injuries to linebacker Lavonte David & Vita Vea that occurred during training camp would have potentially caused a change in the team's bottom portion of the roster had those injuries occurred during the regular season.

The last day in August can be a special day for a player whose last name isn't one of the obvious names to be part of the team's roster & who battled through training camp to secure a spot on the team. But should you be one of those players that happens to be successful in grabbing one of those last five spots on the team, your head coach has a message for you, "Don't celebrate too much, it might only be for two days."
