The Tampa Bay Lightning wrapped up their four game road trip Tuesday night in St. Louis against the Blues. The Bolts got off to a good start against newly acquired goaltender Ryan Miller scoring two first period goals from Alex Killorn and Tyler Johnson giving the Lightning a 2-0 lead after one period.
In the second period the Blues pulled even at two taking advantage of the Bolts poor defense including a short handed goal from Team U.S.A star T.J. Oshie that swung the momentum in their favor.
Early in the third period the Alexander Steen goal gave the Blues their first lead of the night and Vladimir Tarasenko added an empty net goal to hand Tampa Bay a second straight loss and a 1-3 record overall on the road trip. Ben Bishop had 25 saves and the Bolts were out shot 29-17.
The Lightning look to get back into the win column when they start a six game home stand Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres. The team is hopeful of the return of Steven Stamkos. The puck drops at 7:30 PM from the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
