If FSU had any hopes for an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament they had to beat North Carolina at home Monday night. And early leads of 9-0 and 21-6 certainly looked to have FSU on its way.

But the Tar Heels had other ideas. After an 0-for-10 start on three-pointers the Tar Heels got three from Marcus Paige to build an eight-point lead, and UNC defeated FSU 81-75.

Paige's third 3 made it 70-62 with eight minutes left which proved too much for the Noles to overcome. The Noles did get the next seven points but UNC caught a break when two FSU defenders collided while trying to make a steal leading to a dunk from J.P. Tokoto.

FSU failed to score on its next possession and North Carolina's Kennedy Meeks, who went 11-for-12 on the night, padded the lead back up to five. Meeks scored 23 points while Paige ended with 20.

Ian Miller had 22 points while Montay Brandon scored 18 and Aaron Thomas added 16 for the Noles (15-11, 6-8 ACC).
