Cougars forward Danuel House had 17 points and nine rebounds as Houston used a late run to seal a 78-69 win over USF Tuesday night. The win extends the Cougars' win streak to four games while USF have lost 12 of their last 14 games.
L.J. Rose added 16 points and sophomore guard Jherrod Stiggers chipped in 15 points off the bench for Houston who shot 55 percent, including 12 of 23 from three point range.
Victor Rudd had 25 points, and Martino Brock added 19 points for the Bulls.
With the game tied at 59, Rose hit a jumper to start a 15-3 run for the Cougars, capped by two Stiggers' free throws with 52 seconds remaining. Rose had five points in the game-deciding run which nailed the coffin shut on USF’s chance to snap a six game losing streak.
