The Tampa Bay Rays currently have three catchers on their 25-man roster, but one may be leaving before the team heads to Spring Training in Port Charlotte.

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times says trade talks involving Jose Lobaton may be moving to the front burner.

Lobaton played in a career-best 100 games in 2013, hitting .249 / .320 / .394 with seven home runs and 32 RBI in the regular season, and hit the game-winning home run in Game 3 of the American League Division Series off Boston's Koji Uehara into the rays tank.
