The Rays will be losing one of their top pitching prospects for at least a year due to injury.

The 20-year-old, taken in the first round of the 2011 draft, was 6-2 with a 2.01 earned run average in 14 starts with Class-A Bowling Green.  Coming in to 2013, Guerrieri was considered by as Tampa Bay's 2nd best prospect (behind OF Wil Myers) and 37th overall in baseball.  Normal recovery time from the surgery is at least 12 months.
