Matt Moore became the third American League pitcher to have a 5-0 April before turning 24, but fell short of becoming the AL Pitcher of the Month

Not even becoming just the third player in American League history to have a 5-0 April before the age 24 could get Matt Moore the Pitcher of the Month Award.
Boston right-hander Clay Buchholz beat out the Tampa Bay lefty for the award thanks to his similar 5-0 record and 1.19 earned run average (Moore ERA is just a tick better at 1.13).
Likely what gace Buchholz the award over Moore was the difference in win-loss record between the two clubs. Boston finished April with an 18-8 record, while the Rays found themselves 12-14 after the first month of the season.
