The time has come. Wil Myers is now a Tampa Bay Ray and no longer a Durham Bull where he hit 14 HRs and drove in 57 runs with the Rays' AAA ball club. The Rays called up the prized prospect Sunday night after dropping the third game of a four game series against Myers' former team the Kansas City Royals. He will join the big league roster in Boston Tuesday when the Rays begin a road trip starting with three against the Red Sox before traveling to New York for a four-game series with the Yankees.
Monday morning, Rays TV play by play announcer Dwayne Staats joined Ron and Ian to talk about the Myers call up.
"This is the equivalent to a major trade to try to help the lineup," Staats said. "That's how they do things and would prefer to do that, I think."
