With a new playoff format comes a different way of releasing the NASL schedule. On Thursday the league's Spring Schedule was announced and probably not by chance, the Rowdies open the 12-game slate against the team they beat for the 2012 championship.

The Rowdies will start the 2013 campaign by hosting the Carolina RailHawks Saturday, April 6 at Al Lang Stadium.

This year the NASL will split its season in two halves, with a month off in between for players to transfer in or out. Every team will play the other home-and-away for a total of 12 games in the first half.

Automatically the Spring Schedule champion will be named host of the Soccer Bowl where it will take on the Fall Schedule champ.

In the Fall the New York Cosmos, a franchise getting a reboot for 2013, will join the fold along with Puerto Rico returning.
